Sass's Third B-day

I really think I feel this way every year since she was born, but I just can't believe my little girl is 3 years old today. Then-Now- She is such a little character and I just love her to bits. She has been waiting on this day for a long time, I think she would mention at least once daily about going to Olive Garden (yes, she picked to eat there for her B-day) and her Ariel cake.

This morning she woke up so happy, when we woke up she came to my room and when I told her Happy Birthday her little face lit up and she was so happy and said, "YAAAH! It's my birthday!" Bless her heart she is so precious. She even let me sing her Happy Birthday without crying. :)

Today was planned to go differently than what really happened. I had to go the college this morning and she was going to go play at her friends house while I was gone, but we woke up to ice covered everything and it wasn't safe to drive out there. Though it sure was pretty.

So around 1 or so is when we went to Olive Garden, it is about a mile from the house and as we were up to it, Sass got so excited and yelled, "There is Olive Garden, YAAAY, we made it!" What can I say, it's my child...and we love us some Olive Garden!

Sass got lucky, I ordered her a water, and she told the waiter she wanted lemonade, which is Sass speak for, water with a lemon in it. I tried to explain that to him, but he brought out a water AND lemonade....*sigh* but I let her have it anyway since it is her B-day after all. And she enjoyed it, though I have to admit, it made me smile when she drank more of her water, than lemonade. Another cool thing? He didn't charge us for it...but then he also didn't bring us chocolate mints...I am glad though (even though Sass asked for the chocolates...she has an awesome memory) because if they were there, I would have eaten them. I have no willpower when it comes to food most days. That is why I just dont bring it into the house, I cant eat it.

I got Sass the grilled chicken, pasta and broccoli kids meal, the most expensive, but also the healthiest...go figure right? It was part of their "low fat" options. The lunch menu didn't have much to offer with that for my meal that actually sounded appetizing, so I got this shrimp with roma tomatoes with angel hair pasta, I just didn't eat much of it and allowed myself 1 bread stick (I usually eat a basket and a half, dipped in ranch to boot!) And I ordered the salad with no dressing and had the low fat italian on the side and just drizzled it. Had water, so I think I did pretty well considering. Sass gobbled up her pasta...she is a carb lover.

I was going to call her a carbaholic...but ever since some comedian made fun of things ending that way, I can't now write it and not think about it. I think it went something like this....Why do people say they are chocoholics? What is a Chocohol? LOL...so yah, ruined that for me for life...thanks guy!

After OG we went to Wally World to pick up stuff for me like protein meal bars, protein powder, dishwasher soap and a heart rate monitor watch, but most importantly, Sass's Ariel cake. She was so excited, she fell asleep on the way home...

They did an awesome job with it I think, it was much more elaborate than the display sample I saw, and for $5.95, not bad at all!

Sass just LOVED it...but then again, it had an inch thick layer of frosting, how could she not? I assume there was actual cake in there somewhere, though it was hard to see. She had a nice bit of it before I put it in the fridge. Hell, I became diabetic just looking at it....but it was very pretty.

Sass also got to pick out a toy, we got the LeapFrog tracing letter thingamabob. She is really into spelling and stuff now, and this will help her write her letters and shapes in a fun way. I like educational toys the best, she seems to play with those more than her dolls and stuff. She plays with her TAG reader every day and is getting rewards for answering things right, she is my smart girl. At OG, I wrote her name and before I had time to say anything she yells, "That says SASS!" insert her name there. :)

So today ended up being a pretty good day. She can't wait for her B-day party when hubby gets back in February. Her big gift she'll get in June when its Sprout's B-day, kinda like a big sister gift. Well, I have one more blog to do tonight so, I am off...

Took over a year...

...but I finally decorated my living room. I guess I haven't had the motivation to do so because I didn't think we would be staying for long and just didn't know what to do with the small living room we have. Well....I finally went and got some pieces and yesterday I found a shadowbox shelf while Hubby and I were walking around at the furniture store while the clinics had their bomb threat that is just what I was looking for. Here is the before... Oh so bland

and here are a couple after. I still hate our tiny apt, but we have another yr here, so....I actually feel better in my living room. How weird something so small can chance how you feel in an area. I actually dont feel so..BLAH in my living room now. Anyway, here it is...

Feeling better

Sass was much better today, but I could tell she wasnt 100%. She only took one nap today! I laid her down in her room but she just played in her crib. Usually she gives up within an hour, but not today. So she was awake from 11 something until 8 o'clock bed time. Surprisingly, she wasnt cranky at all!

Tomorrow we are going to try and carve our pumpkins, would have today but with Sass not all better and her with no nap, we put it off again. (were originally going to do it Sunday, but thats when she got the fever).

So hubby is going to dress up like Napolean Dynamite on Friday for something at work, so he went upstairs to get the wig (we have had this for yrs, we were obsessed with that movie hahaha) and this is what happened...

She cracks me up!!!
So I was going outside to spray down the driveway with the hose, I pass by the bathroom and this is what I see.....

Crazy cat....................He has water!! At first I thought he was going potty because I had just cleaned his box and it was outside drying lol....Man that would have been funny. But he was just thirsty I guess....

So I am watching intervention right now, its the one where the girl inhales air/duster stuff. It is crazy, gives me a headache just watching it. It is NOT funny she is on these drugs but I cant help but laugh she sounds so funny, "its like I'm walking on sunshine!" Its really sad....seriously....those drugs have messed her up really bad....it is such a shame.

Welp...thats all for tonight, I am hoping to get to sleep at a decent time tonight.

It's Ghost Hunters Night!

Yeah it's Wednesday and that means its Ghost Hunter Night! ahahahaa, hubby and I like watching that show on the Sci-fi channel. Nothing else to watch really besides the same old same old on the discovery channel and channels like that. I am really addicted to One Tree Hill but the new season for that doesn't start until 1 Sep, so I have a while for that!

~So my birthday was yesterday, Hubby got up with Sass so that I could sleep a little longer, though my mom called me at 8:12am my time (2:12pm) Michigan time because thats when I was born, though I really think its 2:14 but didnt want to get up and check my birth certificate. Either way, still didnt get to sleep in much. But thats ok. So Mom said all is well and that she is sad Dakota (my little brother) is joining the Army. She is sad that now both of us will be far from home, and because even though I just recently got out of the Army, I have no intentions on moving back to Michigan. I will go to visit, but thats it. Thats another thing I am stressed about. Aside from the fact that ticket prices are OUTRAGEOUS, even though I could suck it up and pay for it, the ones that are hovering around 1,000 are for 18 hrs worth of traveling, and change of airlines......SUCKS. Not to mention it would just be me and Sass, Hubby cant go, so I would have to do that all by myself....not fun. So in the back of my mind, I have that whole thing looming so I can never fully relax, because.....I have to go sometime.....The only way we can pay for it is from my separation money I am getting from the Army, so its like we never had the money, I'd love to put it in savings, but if I dont go home, I am sure I will be disowned...and be made to feel guilt because if my grandparents dont live long enough to meet their first great-grandchild...so..what to do.....

But anyway...finishing about my Birthday, it was a great day! I had my pre-op appt today, so while I was there Hubby decorated the house, baked me a cake and made lasagna for dinner! (I had to stay gone a little longer than the appt. so I went to borders and read books). After dinner I opened my card, which was the sweetest thing!!! And inside it had an appointment slip for my 80min massage! So needed! He also got me a great handbag. So thoughtful. We then went for a walk with Sass and just had a great night. The cake was soooo good. Even though I am on a diet, who can deny cake on their birthday??

I have more to say, but got things to do 1st. Write later
